Policies, Terms & Conditions

LESSON RESCHEDULING POLICY

  • Students may reschedule a lesson with at least 24 hours notice.  Requests made with less than 24 hours notice are considered a late cancellation.

LATE CANCELLATION POLICY

  • Cancellations made within 24 hours of the scheduled lesson time will be charged a $30 late cancellation fee.  

NO-SHOW POLICY

  • Students who are more than 15 minutes late without notice will be considered a no-show.  The lesson will be forfeited.  No refunds will be provided.  The lesson cannot be rescheduled.

LATE ARRIVAL POLICY

  • If a student arrives late (but within 15 minutes), the lesson will continue but the lesson time will be reduced by the number of minutes the student was late.  Full lesson fees still apply.

VALID LICENSE REQUIREMENT

  • Students must present a valid BC Learner's Driver's Licence before each lesson.

REGISTRATION AND PAYMENT REQUIREMENT

  • All students must register and make full payment at the time of registration.

REFUND POLICY

  • ​Refunds for unused lessons will be calculated at a single lesson rate for the package purchased.

PAYMENT POLICY

  • All lessons and packages must be paid in full prior to booking.  Accepted payment methods include credit card, e-transfer, and cash. 

PICK-UP & DROP-OFF

  • Complimentary pick-up and drop-off services within Nanaimo and surrounding areas.

SCHOOL-INITIATED CANCELLATIONS

  • Right Way Driving School may cancel lessons due to instructor illness, vehicle issues, or unsafe conditions.  Lessons will be rescheduled.

STUDENT CONDITION & BEHAVIOUR POLICY

  • Lessons may be cancelled without refund if the student is suspected of impairment, aggressive behaviour, or unsafe conduct.  Students must be physically, mentally, and emotionally fit to participate.

FOOTWEAR & CLOTHING POLICY

  • Proper clothing and secure footwear are required. Unsafe footwear may result in lesson cancellation without refund.

ICBC ROAD TEST VEHICLE USE

  • Students may use the driving school vehicle for their ICBC road test.  This service is included in select package prices.

WEATHER AND SAFETY POLICY

  • Lessons may be postponed due to unsafe weather conditions at the instructor's discretion.

LESSON RECORDING POLICY

  • Lessons may be recorded for safety, liability, insurance, and training purposes.  Recordings are confidential and protected under BC PIPA.

INSTRUCTION STANDARDS

  • All lessons comply with BC laws and are taught by  ICBC qualified licensed instructors.

INDEMNITY & LIABILITY RELEASE

  • Students agree to indemnify and hold harmless Right Way Driving School and its representatives from claims or legal disputes arising from services legally provided.

OBSERVERS IN THE VEHICLE

  • Lessons are one-on-one unless mutually agreed otherwise.  Maximum of three people in the vehicle.  Additional persons are observers only.

PRIVACY POLICY (BC PIPA COMPLIANT)

  • Personal information is collected only as required for service delivery, student files, safety, and legal compliance.  Information is securely stored and never sold.
